Question #3

Do we need a metaphysic or worldview in order to survive in what has lately become a very complicated world?

  1. I think we do need a worldview of some sort in today's world. I think a better question would be "Do we need one metaphysic/worldview or can we continue to survive on the multiple worldviews that currently exist?". When you start talking about worldviews, you have to take into account that within each religion, there is a unique worldview. And then within each worldview, there may be more than one sub-worldview because as we all know primary religions tend to faction into smaller divisions within the larger religion. Islam has the Sunni's, Shi'ites, and other lesser divisions. Christianity and Judaism both have orthodox and unorthodox traditions.

  2. Are those ancient worldviews still relevant today? And if so, do we strive for the union of them or continue to let them function 'on their own'?
